Valentine Ozigbo inaugurates support group, Ozigbo Vanguard

VALENTINE Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flag-bearer for the 2021 Anambra governorship election, on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, inaugurated ‘Ozigbo Vanguard’, a support group committed to the success of his campaign.
Ozigbo Vanguard is a support group, comprising prominent politicians and seasoned professionals, who have pledged their support to the VCO project.
At the meeting held at the VCO Campaign Office in Udoka Estate, Awka, the convener of Ozigbo Vanguard, Izuchukwu Oraelosi, explained that the group is poised to be an essential part of the VCO Campaign structure and will deploy members to solicit grassroots support for Ozigbo’s candidacy.
“Ozigbo Vanguard will deploy strategies to attract support from the grassroots, student community and demographies that require special attention,” Oraelosi said.
“Our membership is widespread. We have intellectuals, professionals, traders, youths, and students amongst us. We will have an Ozigbo Vanguard representative in every ward and across the over 5000 polling units in Anambra,” Oraelosi, a seasoned businessman and ex-banker, said.
Victor Okpoko, the Director-General of the Ozigbo Vanguard, reiterated the group’s commitment towards ensuring Ozigbo’s victory at the November 6 election.
“Our mandate is to push the #KaAnambraChawapu message to the minutest groups in Anambra. Valentine Ozigbo has demonstrated competence and character and deserves our support to ensure he emerges as the next Governor of Anambra State.” Okpoko stated.
In his remarks, Ozigbo expressed gratitude to the group for their solidarity and commitment to the project. He described his candidacy as divine and ordained by God.
Ozigbo, who is the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, assured Ozigbo Vanguard of his commitment and collaboration as they play their part to ensure he emerges governor of Anambra. He also acknowledged the project’s brilliance so far and promised to support the group.
In his closing remarks, Ozigbo congratulated the group and commissioned them to go and do exploits in his stead.
Ozigbo seized the opportunity to embark on a tour of the Ozigbo Vanguard Office, which the group acquired to compliment activities at the VCO Campaign Office.
Also present at the meeting were Ojiugo Ozigbo, Ozigbo’s wife and several directors and senior members of the VCO Campaign Organisation, including Eucharia Azodo, the Director of Women and Welfare; Tony Offiah, the Director of Finance and Fundraising; Lady Juliet Anaeme, the Director for Youths and Support Groups; Aziza Uko-Douglas, the Media Advisor to the VCO Campaign Organisation; Ikechukwu Akaeze, a former PDP Chairman in Dunukofia LGA; Chuks Ozigbo, Amaka Tamuno, the Woman Leader in Awka South LGA, and several others.
