FORMER Gov. Donald Duke of Cross River State, has alleged that his picture as a 12-year-old was presented as that of Bola Ahmed Tinubu at that age in a recent documentary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the forthcoming 2023 election.

The documentary was produced by the TVC, a television station based in Lagos, which is owned by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Duke made this known to journalists at a media roundtable organised by Frontfoot Media Initiative event. The video of the event which is embedded in this story has gone viral.

According to him, he was “having a debate with a friend and colleague, Bola, which centred on drug, his resume, the school he went to, who are his classmates. Interestingly, there is a new documentary. It is titled the nation builder, and it was Bola Tinubu, his years in Chicago, his exploits and how wonderful a student he was. Fine.”

“But my disagreement is that my photograph as a 12-year-old is used as his photograph as a young person. In other words, they could not find his photograph as a young person and they now took my own photograph as a young boy in Sokoto posing. I don’t know if you have seen the photograph. I have it on my phone. I will send it to you. That picture I had as a 12-year-old is now being used for politics. I don’t know if I can get justice on this. … It just shows that the level of debate has just come so low,” Duke said.
