DAKAR was in celebratory mood Thursday night (14th March 2024), as citizens poured out on the streets with motorists hocking their car horns following the release from prison of opposition leader Ousmane Sonko and his anointed candidate for Senegal’s 24 March presidential election through a general amnesty granted them by President Macky Sall.
