SOME voters on Saturday commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the seamless accreditation and voting processes in the general elections.

The electorate, who spoke to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, said the operation of the commission was evolving to meet international best practices.

Mr Ibe Onuh, a voter, said the accreditation and subsequent voting processes were commendable.

“I was surprised that when I came, I saw people being accredited and voting immediately.

“This is quite different from what it used to be. INEC should be commended for this because it is not easy,” he said.

Another voter, Mrs Comfort Lanre, said the seamless process of accreditation followed immediately by voting reflected international standard.

She appealed to the commission to also include the process of voting online to allow Nigerians in diaspora to participate in electioneering process.

Mr John Otege, a voter, also commended INEC for creating more polling units and ensuring the spread.

He said the development had reduced long queues of voters in one polling unit.

NAN reports that the accreditation and voting processes were without hitches along Nyanya axis.
