Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State has emerged as the winner of Verbatim magazine Man of the Year 2014 Award for his good works
GOVERNOR Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto State is the winner of Verbatim magazine’s Man of the Year, 2014. Wamakko’s choice was announced in a press statement signed by Tobs Agbaegbu, editor-in-chief of the magazine published in Abuja by former editors of Newswatch magazine. According to Agbaegbu, Wamakko’s nomination was in recognition and appreciation of his numerous people-oriented programmes and achievements in various sectors of socio-political and economic life in Sokoto State.
The Verbatim said it found Wamakko “to have towered over and above many others who were also considered for the prestigious award.” But the magazine did not mention those others considered alongside the governor.
It, however, said that Wamakko had accepted the honour having been duly informed of the award by the magazine.
The magazine said Governor Wamakko would be officially crowned Verbatim Man-of-the-Year in Sokoto at a glamorous event and that details would soon be released later.
