OBINNA Ogbodo, the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene consultant for Aguata Local Government Area, has called on WASHCOM Chairmen, women organizations and entire people of the area to maintain water facilities in their localities.

Ogbodo made the call during a two day workshop for WASH officers in the LGA.

The workshop was a collaboration of Anambra State Government, European Union, EU, and UNICEF.

The sanitation and hygiene consultant advised the people to avoid vandalism and rather report to WASH authorities any breakdown of water facilities.

“The major reason for bringing water facilities to communities is to ensure availability of drinkable water, for good health and Hygiene.

“So, anything that hinders availability of water is not productive, and should be avoided,’’ Ogbodo said.

He, then, urged village heads to work with WASHCOM Chairmen and women organisations to ensure that the water facilities were not overgrown by weeds.
