We do not administer expired vaccines – NPHCDA

THE Nigeria Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, has said the agency does not administer expired vaccines to Nigerians.

The agency explained on Friday through its Twitter handle that expired vaccines are administered to Nigerians.

It said that the agency had always adhered strictly to ethical principles of vaccines management and would not do anything to compromise the health and safety of Nigerians.

 “No! NPHCDA adheres strictly to ethical principles of vaccines management and will not do anything to compromise the health and safety of Nigerians,” the agency said in response to whether the it was administering expired vaccines in the country.

 “All vaccines due to expire were withdrawn from vaccination sites before the day of expiration.

“All retrieved expired vaccines were publicly destroyed by NAFDAC in the presence of media representatives,” the agency added.
