DR Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, has assured that dividends of democracy will be delivered to Nigerians as promised during electioneering.
Hamzat gave the assurance at a special Thanksgiving Service for President Bola Tinubu, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all elected APC candidates in the 2023 general elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the service tagged: “The Harvest of Rejoicing”, held on Sunday at the Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Ese-Offin Village, Otto-Awori LCDA, in Lagos.
The deputy governor assured the people of good governance and fulfillment of all electioneering promises.
He thanked God for sparing their lives and also for the successful conduct of the elections.
“I appreciate Lagosians for their commitment and support in the first and even during the second tenure,” he said.
Hamzat urged Nigerians to continually pray for their leaders to excel in their respective duties.
“I pray for Lagos and Nigeria as a whole that God continues to unite us in peace, love and show us mercy.”
In his goodwill message, the Lagos State Chairman of APC, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, implored Nigerians not to be desolate.
He urged the people to have faith, believe in God, and be determined in whatever they desired or set their minds to achieve.
According to him, despite the challenges witnessed during the last general elections, 95 per cent of APC candidates succeeded at the polls.
Ojelabi, who organised the event, therefore, extended his appreciations to the people for their support while urging them to continue to pray for their leaders to perform well and discharge their duties accordingly.
The service was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, former state executives, and APC chieftains among others. (NAN)
