THE Yateem Faqeer Global Foundation says it is committed to improving the wellbeing of vulnerable people and those in abject poverty within its focus communities.

Its Founder, Hajiya Yagana Abba-Hassan, made the assertions on Thursday at a Town Hall Meeting and Presentation of Awards in Abuja.

According to her, the foundation is passionate about changing lives for a better tomorrow and creating an environment where everyone has a chance, not only to survive, but also thrive.

“We firmly believe that genuine partnerships with the governments can unlock opportunities to increase the number of participating communities and to increase the quality of life for people in those communities.

“Yateem Faqeer Global Foundation will not contribute to the fragmentation of the social system by creating a management burden for governments, but rather will continue to pursue its vision and mission a strategic plan of action.

“This will execute effectively to promote social justice and provide quality service to humanity,” Abba-Hassan said.

In his remarks, the Sheu of Bornu, Alhaji Abubakar ibn Umar, commended the foundation for providing basic needs to vulnerable people, especially victims of insurgency in North-Eastern part of the country.

The traditional ruler also commended the armed forces for being on top of their duties to contain the menace of insurgency in Borno.

He added that the armed forces had decimated the power of insurgents to the extent that no local government area was under their control.

Also, a Resource Person at the occasion, Dr Umar Bindo, stressed the need for 30-Year Strategic Plan for the development of the North Eastern part of the country.

Bindo said that all governors ir respective of their different political parties, must buy into the working document to make the region economic and revenue based. (NAN)
