THE Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), again, on Thursday, failed to produce any witnesses to  defend the declaration of Senator Monday Okpebholo as winner of the disputed September 21st Governorship Election in Edo State to the shock of the Tribunal and those present at the day’s sitting.

At the resumed hearing of the ongoing Edo Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, INEC announced through their lawyers that they will be closing their case  due to their inability to present witnesses; after tendering only three documents previously submitted by the PDP as evidence.

Expectedly, the development has sent shockwaves through the camp of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Edo State, who had hoped that INEC will defend their victory.

Meanwhile, following a plea by the respondent, the Tribunal has adjourned sitting till Monday, February 10.

6th February, 2o25.
