WHO seeks information on increase pneumonia in northern China
Health
THE World Health Organisation (WHO) has demanded that China provide information on the increased incidence of pneumonia in the north of the country.
China has been asked to provide additional information on the diseases involved and their spread, as well as laboratory results, the WHO said in a statement in Geneva.
Reports of these clusters of undiagnosed pneumonia among children had earlier appeared in the media on Tuesday.
WHO, says it is unclear whether the cases are related to the general increase in respiratory diseases in China.
China’s National Health Commission attributes this increase in respiratory diseases to the cancellation of Coronavirus measures, as well as the spread of the pathogens that cause influenza, pneumonia, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and SARS-CoV-2. (dpa/NAN)
