SECRETARY-General, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Binta Bello, says corps members are rejecting their postings to local government areas because of insecurity.

She said this in Abuja yesterday at a meeting with the national governing board of the National Youth Service Corps and chairmen  of state NYSC governing boards.

She urged the security agencies to double their efforts in protecting corps members.

Chairman, NYSC National Governing Board, Fatima Balla, said: “Our target is to sensitize and re-energize ourselves for improved performance as the boards of the NYSC at all levels to ensure optimal achievement of the scheme’s mandates.”
