MACDella Mackie Cooper, a former presidential candidate of the Movement for One Liberia has told Realnews that President George Weah’s poor performance in his first tenure will be the reason he will not win the October 10 election.

Cooper who spoke to Realnews in an exclusive interview revealed that President Weah hasn’t been able to meet up with the peoples expectation but has instead ran the country down, enriching himself and his cronies.

She agree that although there was high hope when President Weah came into power in 2017, but she noted that he had soon after been sworn in realized that the job was above his head, and he could not deal or run the country.

She accused president Weah of living a lavish celebrity lifestyle and abandoning his duty as the country’s leader.

She alleged that Weah only used his popularity as a footballer get a position, get the young people excited about him, get the people excited about his football years, and success he made in football to get power but had no interest in being a president for the country.

“He wanted the benefits of being a president, but they didn’t care enough to create an agenda to bring anything good to our country. And so, unfortunately, he just withdrew from everything, and just focused on enriching himself and his family.

“Today, the president is reported that have 60 houses in Liberia, 60 houses owned by him. He had one house when he became a senator, and when he became a president, he had built 60 houses, and five mansions in Ghana, businesses across West Africa.

“He realized that, yes he could use his popularity to win the position, get the resources, but have no interest in building, or supporting this national agenda to move Liberia in the right direction. So, I always equated to the notion of Moses leading the children of Israel to the Red Sea, and leaving them at the Red Sea, and took a private jet over the Red Sea to the other side, and led himself into the promise land while the people are still at the Red Sea, the sea has no part of them yet, that’s what summarizes weah’s government.

“We can look online.  Reporters have been ready on this for years, since the first years of weah’s administration. They have pictures of the houses all over online, and so, we are happy to pull up some of those images online, and share them with you.

Copper further alleged that in the first two months of Weah presidency, a whole container filled with money got missing.

“Plus, it was at the same time that there was an article published that the president was the richest president in the country. He was worth $85 million. Again, that’s online. The articles are there and I would pull them and share them with you. So I’m not an opposition that’s just making accusation, this is something that’s wide known all over the country.

“The president has several mansions in Liberia that’s owned by him and so it’s not something that we just say out loud, it’s something that even the president and his crew brag about and it’s been an administration that’s been very visual on social media about the lavish lifestyle that they lead, going on shopping spray.

“When they use the nation’s budget to go to the United Nations General Assembly, they would take a bunch of young people with them who would be on videos showing them on shopping screens while Liberians are struggling; a mother is struggling for even one cup of rice on the table for our family and you have some of the lawmakers from the ruling party who have these lavish weddings, it won’t just happen and the post- these pictures on their own site, not the opposition site, on their own facebook pages because facebok is idely used in Liberia among all of the government official. So we put everything we do on Facebook Live. And so they show the president’s life; his lavish lifestyle as he travels on his private jet, at his different mansions.

“They are recording these things and posting it on social media. So the president has this mention number one, mansion number two, mansion number three. They are posting these things. The president has been caught in Qatar watching the World Cup for 52 days. They are posting all of it on the website and they bragging about it on radio shows how rich the president of Liberia is.

“There was a moment, to your question they thought it was a wise idea to take a picture of the president the day he was coming out of his home in an outfit that matched the home color, they took a picture of the home of the president and his front door in the orange suit and the house was almost orange or in a green suit with the house. it was a mockery; was a display of ignorance and arrogance and so we, the leaders who read the papers every day who follow social media, we see this. This is not our position made of story. It’s all on social media and this is coming from the legitimate pages of these people who follow the president. There’s a gentleman named Galasgco, he’s a king of posting the president’s lifestyle on social media.” she added.
