Chioma Ibezim, the wife of the Anglican bishop of Awka Diocese, has urged wives of the clergies to conduct themselves in manners worthy of emulation through influencing other women positively.
Ibezim said this recently at the Diocesan clergy wives meeting held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Umuokpu, Awka.
Speaking on the theme: “Occupy till I come,’’ she said that as managers they should use their talents to glorify God as wives of the clergy.
She urged them to be proactive so as to support their husbands financially and avoid being liabilities stressing that they should shun laziness.
Ibezim enjoined the women to be faithful in their service to God and mankind, bearing in mind that the ministry was of God’s work.
“Your honour as wives of the clergy is not of first rate merchants who have vast stocks to start but as poor traders who takes pains to gain.’’
Ibezim, who doubles as president of the Diocesan Clergy Wives Association, noted that women were co-ministers with their husbands and therefore should be supportive in the vineyard of God.
The president said that the women should put in their best wherever they were posted in spite of the size of the church and should not neglect the day of their little beginnings.
She added: “all Christians are not called into the fivefold ministry and therefore should bring nations and people to the obedience of faith and building them up.’’
Ibezim urged the women to pray in and out of season as they await the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, so as to be found worthy by Him.
