GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, on Thursday, October 5, said he was not surprised with the massive development going on in Bayelsa State.
According to him, it was a clear testament to the performance of a governor who knows what good governance is all about.
Wike said Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State had proved beyond doubt that he has all it takes to offer good leadership to people of the state and the region as he called for more support for the governor.
Wike said: “I am not surprised because Dickson was prepared for the office and so you can see the result. You know once you are prepared for an exam, certainly you will pass very well. What I have seen today has made PDP to be proud, it has made the people of Bayelsa, the Ijaw Nation and the Niger Delta to be proud.”
He expressed his desire to partner with his Bayelsa counterpart in the area of political economic development as well as develop and share common ideas for the overall good of both states, saying it would help keep the South-South zone united as it should be.
On his part, Dickson thanked Wike for the visit and the kind words he showered on his government, saying he looked forward to working with him more closely to help develop regional integration.
“We talked about a whole lot, security and developmental matters within our region and in our respective states. As we progress you will see all of this unfold and we will do so at the regional level in conjuction with all our brother governors,” Dickson said.
