Woman, 55, docked for allegedly stealing N2.3m  jewellery, clothes from employer

A housekeeper,  Sade Amoo, 55, on Wednesday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, charged with stealing valuables including jewellery worth N2, 375,500 from her employer.

The defendant was arraigned on a charge of stealing, to which she pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp Opeyemi Olagunju, told the court that Amoo allegedly stole jewellery,  jean trousers and tops worth N2,375,500.00 property of one Nneka Boneze, her employer.

“The offence, Olagunju said, was allegedly committed on July 11, at 5:00p.m. at No. 12, Road 6, Ire Akari, Oluyole Extension, Ibadan.

He said that the offence committed contravened

Section 390 (9) of the  Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Tolu Oyediji, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.

Oyediji said the surety must be a blood relative to the defendant.

She adjourned the matter till Aug. 5, for hearing. (NAN)
