Work resumes at Nnewi Teaching Hospital

WORK resumed at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, NAUTH, Nnewi following suspension of the six-week old industrial action embarked upon by the Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU, on April 17.
Josiah Biobelemoye, national chairman, JOHESU, announced the suspension of the strike, following intervention of Bukola Saraki, Senate president.
He said that JOHESU embarked on indefinite strike following their demand for equity, justice and fairness in the health sector.
Biobelemoye noted that JOHESU considered the effects of on Nigerians and apologised over effects of the strike on health of workers.
“The strike could have been avoided, if the Federal Government had implemented agreements it signed with JOHESU on Sept. 30, 2018,’’ Biobelemoye said.
