Works ministry confers Key Contributor Award on Anambra HOS

THE Anambra State Head of Service, HOS, Okwy Igwegbe has received the ‘Key Contributor Award’ for her contributions to the growth and development of various facets of the State Government especially, the Ministry of Lands.

The recognition and Award came during an Award giving and end of the year ceremony of the Anambra State Ministry of Lands held at the Ministry’s complex in Awka.

Receiving the award, the HOS thanked the commissioner for the recognition.

“It was the combined efforts of the Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary and the staff working as a team that yielded the successes being celebrated.

“Our workers should always remain dedicated at all times in the discharge of their duties as good efforts will always be rewarded,’’ she said.

The foremost Civil Servant emphasised that hard work would always be recognized and rewarded noting that such will spur workers into quality and timely service delivery.

Igwegbe, then, thanked the Governor of Anambra State who according to her has being a forthright leader who only believes in excellence and open governance.

“Without Mr. Governor’s support, I do not think we would have been able to get to where we are today in such short period.

“For this, I remain overtly thankful to Mr. Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR,’’ the HOS concluded. 

Earlier while presenting the award, the Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, eulogized the dedication of the HOS to the development of the Ministry noting that her sincerity of purpose remained second to none.

Prof. Amucheazi noted that since he assumed duty as the Commissioner for Lands, the HOS has remained supportive and has always been responsive to his calls for assistance.

He recalled how the HOS has been of assistance to him in achieving reforms in the Ministry.

“Not for once has she ever failed in helping out even when it is most inconvenient, she always finds a way to assist us.’’

The commissioner prayed for more wisdom and strength for the HOS to continue to carry on the task which goes along with her office.

At the tail end of the event, the HOS assisted in handing out the Excellent Performance Awards to other deserving individuals/workers in the Ministry.
