THE Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society (AIS) has urged Muslim youths to be self-disciplined and contribute positively to the development of their community and the nation at large.
Alhaji Ridhwan Mustapha, Chairman Mission Board of the Society made the call in Abuja at the end of a 10-day workshop for teenagers organised by AIS.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 9th Muslim Teenagers Workshop with the theme “Be Accountable, Be Peaceful” was organised by Al-Habibiyyah as part of measures to build the leadership capacity of the youths.
Mustapha urged them to emulate Prophet Muhammad, as he has been described as the best example of a role model by Allah.
“You should comport yourselves in such a way that people can make reference to you and also identify you as worthy ambassadors of Islam, ” he said.
He said the youth are an important asset to nation building of the country.
He also stressed to the youths the importance of cleanliness, hard work, being truthful and shunning all forms of corrupt tendencies.
The workshop had more than 60 teenage boys and girls in attendance and were taught leadership training, personal hygiene, physical training among others. (NAN)
