A cleric, Revd. Gabriel Duduyegbe, on Sunday admonished Christian Faithful to show love to their neighbours by giving to them, thereby putting smiles on their faces.

Duduyegbe, an Assistant Priest with St. Luke Anglican Church, Amje, Alagbado, gave the admonition in his sermon titled: “Accept the Divine Agenda”.

He noted that Christmas was the best period to affect the lives of others in our communities.

The cleric said, “I urge Christians to remember to extend hands of fellowship to everyone during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

“This season is a period of celebration for Christians. I urge them not to limit their Christmas and New Year enjoyment to immediate families but to see it as a period to affect the lives of others.

“My admonition becomes more pertinent as the rate of inflation in the nation has denied some the opportunity to make merriment during this Yuletide.”

Duduyegbe urged Christian faithful to use the season to pray for the nation’s leaders and all in authority,

The priest added that God had an agenda for each of his children, adding that the agenda was good and not evil.

He urged all Christians to embrace God’s agenda.

Taking his Bible reference from the book of Jeremiah 1 verses 5 to 29, the cleric reiterated God’s divine agenda for everyone, noting that the agenda had nothing to do with age, background, ethnicity, tribe or gender.

“Knowing God’s thought will help you to accept His divine agenda for you which He has clearly stated in Jeremiah chapter 1: ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you.

“In Jeremiah 29 verse 11, God says He knows the thoughts He thinks towards us. Thoughts of peace and not of evil to give us a future and a hope. That is our assurance.

“ In Luke 1 verse 38, Mary submitted to the divine agenda, saying that it should be unto her according to God’s word.

“And that is what God expects from us concerning his divine agenda over our lives, careers and businesses,” he admonished.

Duduyegbe prayed that God’s agenda for everyone including the nation would come to fulfilment. (NAN)
