Yuletide: FRSC deploys 850 personnel in Adamawa

THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Adamawa, says it has deployed personel to strategic positions to ease traffic flow during the Christhmas celebration.

The Sector Commander, Mr Yelwa Dauda-Dio said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  in Yola on Wednesday.

He said the personel would be deployed to highways and other strategic locations across the state to enforce compliance to traffic rules.

“We will deploy patrol vehicles and ambulances on highways for wider and effective coverage of the state during the yelutide,” he said.

Dauda-Dio said that six operational commands of the Corps had been made fully functional with patrol vehicles, personnel and other equipments to enhance its operations at the grassroots.

The Corps, he said, trained hundreds of volunteers and provided them with reflective jackets and other kits to provide rescue operations during accident.

According to him, the Corps will collaborate with sister security agencies to ensure smooth celebrations, adding that, “we are committed to zero tolerence for accident during the festive period”.

While comnending stakeholders, community and religious leaders for their support, Dauda-Dio said the Corps witnessed positive transformation under the stewardship of the Corps Marshal, Mr Dauda Biu, for ensuring logistic support to boost the morale of the personnel. (NAN)
