Yulitide: FRSC deploys 758 personnel in Benue

THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue,  has deployed 758 officers to ensure a hitch-free  movement of motorists during the Christmas and New Year’s celebration in the state.

The State Sector Commander, Mr Ibrahim Abubakar who stated this on Friday in Makurdi, said that 16 patrol vehicles were also deployed for the exercise.

He said that the command had also deployed three ambulances and set up two functional roadsides clinics in the state.

“Our officers are visible everywhere in the state. We also have a Mobile court to sanction road traffic offenders.

“While on the roads we will ensure that there are no speeding and overloading of any vehicle.

“The general public too needs to help us to ensure that they are not conveyed inside overloaded vehicles because most of our roads are not in good shape,” he said.

Abubakar said that the command had also deployed officers at strategic places to decongest the heavy traffic in such areas.

He said the command was doing everything within its powers to ensure that it record no road clash during the Yulitide.

The commnader said that the command was also enforcing the use of speed limit device in the state to minimize accidents. (NAN)
