Yusuf appoints officials for civil service, sharia, zakkat commissions

GOV. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has announced the appointment of the Chairmen and members of the state’s Civil Service, Sharia, Zakkat and Hubsi Commission.

A statement by the spokesperson of the Governor, Sunusi Bature, said he invoked his constitutional powers on the appointments in line with the established procedures.

The statement made available to journalists in Kano on Thursday named Mr Ahmad Ishaq as the Chairman, Kano State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Abdullahi Mahmoud and Mr Ado Mohammed, as Permanent members I and II, respectively..

For the Sharia commission, Bature stated that Sheikh Abbas Abubakar-Daneji was appointed as Executive Chairman, Malam Hadi Gwani-Dahiru, Permanent Commissioner I
and Sheikh Ali Dan’Abba, Permanent Commissioner II.

Others appointed as members were:  Malam Adamu Ibrahim, Malam Abubakar Mai-Ashafa, Malam Naziru Saminu-Dorayi and Sheikh Kawu Aliyu-Harazumi, Sheikh Mukhtar Mama, Sheikh Ibrahim Limamin-Ja’en and Sheikh Sani Ashir, who will serve as Secretary.

For the Zakkat and Hubsi Commission, Mr  Habibu Dan-Almajiri was appointed Executive Chairman, Sheikh Nafiu Umar-Harazumi, Permanent Commissioner I, Dr Ali Quraish Permanent Commissioner II, while Malam Abdullahi Sarkin-Sharifai was a member.

Other members were: Malam Adamu Muhammad-Andawo, Malam Yahaya Kwana-Hudu, Sheikh Hassan Sani-Kafinga, Sheikh Arabi Tudun-Nufawa, Malam Sani Umar-Bichi, while the tenth position is reserved a Secretary from the  Civil Service Commission.

Bature said the governor emphasised that the appointments reflected his administration’s dedication to building robust institutions capable of addressing the needs of the people of the state.

He expressed confidence in the qualifications, integrity and commitment of the appointees to deliver on their mandates effectively.

While congratulating the appointees, Bature further quoted the governor as urging the appointees to work tirelessly in fulfilling the expectations of the government and the people of the state.

“This development the governor added highlighted the administration’s unwavering resolve to promote accountability, transparency and efficiency across public institutions,” Bature stated.(NAN)
