Zamfara assembly charges new Clerk, Deputy on service delivery

THE Zamfara state House of Assembly has called on the newly-appointed Clerk, Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu, and his Deputy, Nasiru Jangebe, to ensure effective service delivery for the development of the  legislature in the state.

The Speaker of the House, Alhaji Bilyaminu Moriki, made the call while administering the Oath of office on the new appointees during the assembly’s plenary in Gusau on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new Clerk of the House, Mamuda Aliyu, was until his appointment the Deputy Clerk of the House, while the new Deputy clerk, Nasiru Jangebe was the Director, Legal Matters to the house.

This followed a motion moved by the majority whip of the House, Rilwanu Marafa (PDP, Anka Constituency), calling on members to unanimously agree with the motion.

After deliberations and unanimous approval of the motion by the lawmakers, the Speaker administered the oath of office to the new Clerk  and his Deputy.

Moriki charged them to work diligently for the development of the state legislature.

“I wish you success in discharging your responsibilities,” the Speaker said.

Meanwhile, the assembly has called on the state government to recruit more indigenous health workers to serve in health facilities in the state, especially in the rural communities. (NAN)
