Zamfara CP patrols Gusau-Tsafe-Funtua road after bandits’ attacks

THE Commissioner of Police in Zamfara, Mr Kolo Yusuf on Thursday led a police team to patrol the troubled Gusau-Tsafe-Funtua highway which has been under daily attack by bandits.

A statement issued by the command spokesman, SP Muhammad Shehu, said that the commissioner supervised some strategic points along the road and made additional operational deployments.

Yusuf also mapped out some salient and strategic locations along the road which were instantly fortified with the deployment of more police tactical operatives.

The operatives were drawn from the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit and Anti – Violence Squad of the command.

The commissioner said that the interventions were necessary to ensure travellers’ safety.

He also visited Yandoto Divisional Headquarters and Police operatives deployed along Yandoto-Mada road, and commended their resilience in safeguarding villages and communities of the area.

He implored them to be more alive to their duty, and assured the general public that the police and other security agencies would sustain efforts to restore normalcy in the state.

The commissioner of police also tasked members of the public on active intelligence sharing with law enforcement agencies for effective policing of the state. (NAN)
