Zulum is a beacon of hope, says Gov. Mohammed
General News
GOV. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has said that Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State is a beacon of hope in Nigeria with his leadership techniques.
Mohammed, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor, made the comment in Bauchi on Sunday, when Zulum paid him a condolence visit over the demise of his elder brother, Mr Bappa Mohammed.
According to the governor, Zulum’s leadership style has brought pride to the people of the North-East and the country at large.
“Professor Zulum, you have carved a niche for yourself as a leader that is giving us a beacon of hope in this country.
“You have done so much and of course your leadership style is worthy of emulation.
“Your leadership has brought pride to all of us in this part of the country in the North-East. You dared all the miscreants that are bombarding us, the charlatans and Boko Haram have evaporated.
“Today, even Mr President has the pride of being associated with you. You are the most visited person by the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that has spoken volume,” the governor said.
Earlier, Zulum said he was in the state simply to condole with the state governor, his entire family and the good people of Bauchi State.
He explained that when the news of the death came to him, he was outside the country and couldn’t come down immediately to Bauchi.
“When I was told about the incident, I said, I and the governor are brothers and nothing would happen to him that I would not come and sympathise with him.
“May the Almighty Allah in His infinite wisdom, forgive and admit him in Jannatu Firdaus and may He give the governor, his entire family and the people of Bauchi State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he prayed.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the deceased died on Sept. 2 at a Turkish Hospital after a prolonged illness.
He was born in 1953, making him 69 years old before his demise.
He was a deputy director at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) before his retirement about 10 years ago.
