THE Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, on Thursday began a two-day Upskilling on trends in telecoms industry for media stakeholders.

The first day of the two-day training, which is intended to keep participants abreast of trends, regulatory strides, challenges, and prospects for consolidating the gains in the telecoms industry, focused on issues such as data journalism and visualization, news gathering techniques, Nigerian Telecoms Industry overview among others.

The training also had several relevant resources persons speak on key topics.

During his opening remarks, Reuben Mouka, Director, Public Affairs, NCC, explained that the training was a fulfillment of Aminu Maida’s promise on assumption of office in 2023.

Mouka also said that the Upscaling also became important as an opportunity to provide media stakeholders with updated skills and knowledge of the industry as partners involved in bridging the gap between the various stakeholders.

According to him, the training is also a way of showing the commissions transparency in its activities, especially as it relates to the happenings in the industry and what is expected.

The training also featured questions and answers sessions from the participants.
