FOUR children aged between four and seven were killed in a home fire in Mongolia, the country’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reported on Monday.

The fire occurred in a traditional round-shaped dwelling in the Songinokhairkhan district of Mongolia’s capital Ulan Bator on Sunday afternoon, killing three boys and a girl, said the NEMA.

“The victims were from two different families. At the time of the fire, the children were left home alone,’’ it said in a statement, urging parents not to leave their children at home unattended.

Investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze, it added.
