ABBA Dabo, journalist, publisher, 66, March 21. Born in Dambatta, Kano State, he was educated at Wudil Teachers’ College, Kano, 1966-1971; School of Basic Studies, 1972-1973; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1973-1977. Dabo started his career with New Nigerian Newspapers Limited, as economic correspondent, 1979-1980; editor, Gaskiya Ta Fi Kwabo, 1981-1982; editor, Sunday New Nigerian, 1982-1983; chief press secretary to President Shehu Shagari, Novermber-December 1983; managing director, Triumph Publishing Company Limited Kano, 1984-1986; publisher, The Insider, 1987. Dabo, who is a member of several organisations both locally and internationally, was a member of the Constituent Assembly, 1988-1989; and secretary to the Kano State government.
