Adetunji Idowu Ishola Olurin, retired Brigadier General in Nigerian Army and former military governor of Oyo State, 72 December 3. Born in Ilaro, Ogun State, he was educated at Egbado College (now Yewa College); Technical College, Ibadan (now Ibadan Polytechnic) in 1966. In 1967 he entered the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, Kaduna, where he obtained his NDA Certificate of Education. He attended many professional courses during his army career. He is a graduate of the School of Infantry, Quetta, Pakistan, the Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos. Olurin was a Field Commander of ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force in Liberia, 1992 – 1993. He retired from service in 1993 and he is a member of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and was administrator of Ekiti State, 2006 – 2007.
