Anambra Assembly confirms ANSIEC Board members ahead of local government elections

THE Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the Chairman and members of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), in preparation for Local Government Elections.
The confirmation occurred yesterday during a plenary session following a letter presented to the House by Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for screening and confirmation.
The members of the Commission are, Magistrate Chinelo Osakwe as the chairman and Beneden Obande, Barr. Cyril Igbokwe, Chinedu Nnaluo, Mrs. Helen Ifeyinwa, and Emeka Okeke as members.
Addressing the members of the commission, the speaker, Somtochukwu Udeze, noted that the Assembly is working tirelessly to enable the governor to conduct local government elections as he promised Ndi Anambra while highlighting its efforts in passing the ANSIEC Law.
Congratulating the members of the Commission, Rt. Hon. Udeze reminded them of the high expectations from Ndi Anambra, emphasizing that it is an opportunity to deliver for the people and that there is no room for disappointment.
He assured the commission that the Assembly would work towards ensuring the state gets the best and urged them to be dedicated, committed and selfless in their duties.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairman of the Commission, Magistrate Osakwe, promised that the team would work for the interest of the state and would not disappoint in any aspect.
