ANAMBRA State Government said it would continue to partner the Church with its managerial style in order to achieve effective delivery.

The Governor Willie Obiano noted that Churches across the state had expressed high level of financial prudence in executing various projects under their care.

The governor said this while addressing members of the Anglican Communion during their 2017 prayer rally at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.

The prayer rally attracted the faithful from nine Anglican Dioceses within the state.

Addressing the faithful, governor Obiano said that his administration would always provide the enabling grounds to promote religious activities, saying he had enjoyed long lasting relationship with the Church.

“Churches have since APGA government demonstrated sincerity in managing resources allocated to them.

“We have series of projects mapped out, to be given to the Church for effective delivery.’’

He stressed that his administration’s aim was to achieve effective fiscal sustainability over the next three years.

Obiano, however, urged them to pray fervently for Anambra State as the Nov, 18 Governorship Election.

Earlier, in a sermon, an Anglican priest and former Minister of Power, Chinedu Nebo described the Anambra election as important in the country and advised the electorate to ensure its success.

Nebo advised Christians to guard against patronising fake miracle workers but to approach God faithfully to find solutions to their problems.

He explained that only God had solution to problems confronting humanity.

The Archbishop of the Province of the Niger, Most Rev. Christian Efobi said that the prayer was to seek the face of God in tackling national issues as well as ensure violent-free election in the state.

In his remarks, the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Dr Alexander Ibezim noted that the aim of the gathering was to offer thanksgiving to God for his benevolence throughout the 2017.

“Ibezim urged Christians to be steadfast and focussed on God for direction and protection throughout their lives.’’

He said that the programme offered them opportunity to reflect on their lives and make atonement of their sins.
