A former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture and Tourism in Ondo State,  Mr Femi Adekanmbi,  has commiserated with the former governorship candidate of the  PDP in the state, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, over the death of his mother, Mrs Caroline Jegede.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that she died at the age of 96 during a brief illness on Thursday.

In a statement on Thursday in Akure,  Adekanmbi urged Jegede and the entire family to take solace in the fact that late Mrs Jegede lived long enough to witness the successes achieved by her children.

According to him, Mama Caroline Jegede lived a fulfilled life.

“ She was our wife, an Ipele woman of substance, in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

“I have nostalgic memories of our time together, Jegede and I at the State Executive Council as commissioners.

“Mama will  call Mr Eyitayo Jegede on a regular basis praying for him and the success of the government.

“I  pray that God grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss,” he added. (NAN)
