Association praises Flying Eagles, advise coach Bosso on consistency

THE Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), on Thursday, commended the Chief Coach of Flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso, the team and the back room staff on their 2-0 victory over Argentina.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria eliminated host nation, Argentina as goals from Ibrahim Muhammad and Rilwanu Sarki sent the six-time champions out of FIFA U-20 World Cup at the Round of 16.
Victory took the Eagles to the quarter-finals, where they will meet the winner of the Ecuador/South Korea Round of 16 duels to be decided on Thursday.
Isiaka Salami, the Acting President of the association commended the team for their display of hard work and determination in the round of 16 matches.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the victory of the Flying Eagles was emphatic and a rare achievement, adding that it was indeed a big statement to the rest of the world.
Salami praised the leadership, technical and tactical efficiency of Coach Bosso against Argentina, saying many have rated them very high as favourites to win the cup.
“We are full of praises for the boys, who gave their best that made Nigeria to record this rare achievement against Argentina.
“The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have indeed made a statement with their victory over Argentina in front of their passionate fans.
“Congratulations to coach Bosso and his team for their impressive performance and advancing to the quarter-finals of the U-20 World Cup.
“I admonish the team to work towards taking the next three important steps to winning the Under- 20 World Cup by maintaining that spirit of determination to win and hard work,” he said.
The NFCA boss, however, advised the team to celebrate less, be focused and prepare more for the tasks ahead.
He stated that apart from members of the NFCA who are solidly behind the Flying Eagles, the entire country stands behind them.
“This is the time Nigeria needs the U-20 World Cup most.We pray for you to succeed”, he said. (NAN)
