Bago mourns Dikko tanker explosion victims

GOV. Mohammed Umaru-Bago of Niger, has described as unfortunate the death of scores of people on Saturday in a Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known  as petrol, tanker explosion at Dikko junction, Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor said the incident was worrisome.

He sympathised with the families of the victims and prayed that Allah to repose the souls of the departed and heal the injured.

Umaru-Bago advised the people to always behave responsibly and  and prioritise to their safety.

He directed all the relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to do what was necessary to assist the families of the dead and care for the living.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled tanker exploded at Dikko junction after which some residents of the area went to scoop its content.

The following inferno led to the death of many while several others sustained various degrees of burnt. (NAN)
