THE Convener of Legacy Group, a pressure group,Retired Maj.-Gen. Olu Bajowa, has described the Ooni of Ile Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, as “an epitome of unity and love in Yoruba land and Nigeria at large”.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oba Ogunwusi clocked 45 years on Thursday.
Bajowa said this in a congratulatory message to the monarch made available to newsmen in Akure.
“Your Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ile Ife, I join several Yoruba leaders of thought and people of goodwill all over the world to felicitate with you on your 45th birthday celebration today Thursday October 17, 2019.
“ I have followed your activities, conduct and utterances with keen interest since the very first day that you ascended the prime throne of Oduduwa and I dare say that you have conducted the affairs of your coveted throne with uncommon humility, love, and passion,” he stated.
He added that the monarch’s reign had ushered unprecedented peace and unity to the Yoruba race at home and in diaspora.
The retired military officer prayed that the Almighty God would continue to increase the monarch on all sides and grant him more wisdom and good health to keep up the good work.
“On behalf of my humble self, and Bajowa royal family, I wish you many years of celebrations and impact to humanity,” he said. (NAN)
