BUK council chairman congratulates new education minister

THE Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano, Dr Nasir Gawuna, has congratulated the new Minister of State for Education, Dr Suwaiba Ahmad, on her  appointment.

This is contained in a statement issued by Deputy Registrar, Head of Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, on Sunday in Kano.

He quoted Gawuna as listing her remarkable achievements in the education sector, spanning about two decades, as a testament to her hard work, dedication, and passion for the development of Nigeria.

“As an accomplished educationist, gender advocate, and consultant, you have consistently demonstrated your commitment to improving educational standards, particularly in science education and girl-child education,” Gawuna said.

According to him, the impressive track records, from serving as a lecturer and Director of Gender Studies at the university, to becoming the Provost of Jigawa College of Education, underscores Dr Suwaiba’s exceptional leadership and expertise.

Gawuna said that her track records in teaching and research, would no doubt, make her drive positive change in the education sector.

“We are confident that your appointment will bring about transformative leadership and innovative solutions to the challenges facing Nigeria’s education system.

 “More so, your commitment also to promoting girl-child education, policy planning, and educational reforms will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the nation,” the former Kano State Deputy Governor added.

The council chairman prayed for Allah’s guidance, tenure be marked by remarkable achievements, and also a legacy to inspire future generations.

“Please, on behalf of the Council, Management, staff and students of Bayero University, Kano, accept our heartfelt congratulations on this meritorious appointment,” Gawuna said.(NAN)
