The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of breach of agreement and wrongful conversion.

The Defence Counsel, Mr Monday Gilbert, applied for bail for the defendant in the most liberal term, promising that his client would not jump bail, but would produce responsible sureties.

Magistrate O.T. Badmus granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.

Badmus said that the sureties must swear to affidavits of means and reside within the court’s jurisdiction, with their addresses to be verified by the prosecutor.
