CARL Ikeme, Nigerian Super Eagles and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, who was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in July 2017 and had been undergoing chemotherapy treatment, has announced his retirement from football.
The 32-year-old Nigeria international has been with Wolves for his entire career, making more than 200 appearances for the club.
His last match with Nigeria was the 2016 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.
In June, Ikeme said he was in “complete remission” after “a tough year and intense chemotherapy.”
