CHUKWUEMEKA Izeze, journalist and former managing director/editor-in-chief of The Guardian newspapers, 60, September 11. Born in Ibusa, Delta State, he was educated at Local Authority School, Ibusa, Delta State, 1964-1971; Institute of Continuing Education, Benin-City, 1975-1980; University of Lagos, 1981-1982. He was appointed news editor, Sunday Graphic, Benin-City, 1982-1984; assistant news editor, The Guardian newspaper, 1984-1985; associate editor, New African magazine, London, 1985; news editor, The Guardian on Sunday, 1985-1988 and editor, The Guardian, 1992-1999. Izeze is a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and Nigerian Guild of Editors. He was also a member of Vision 2010 committee appointed by the late Gen. Sani Abacha, former military head of state.
