Coronavirus: Anambra fumigates Ochanja Central Market, Onitsha

THE Anambra State Government has carried out a fumigation exercise at the Ochanja Central Market, Ontisha as part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The exercise was in line with `Detection, Prevention and Protection’ plan of the Anambra State COVID-19 Action Committee to stem the spread of the virus.
President, Ochanja Market Association, Nelson Ojukwu, said that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure that every shop was disinfected against the virus and other diseases.
Ojukwu told the state Information Officers, who were monitoring the compliance of the government directives on the fumigation at the Ochanja Market, that the people of Anambra should do their part by observing the recommended personal hygiene practices.
The leader of the fumigation team, Chibueze Onwuegbusi, said that the fumigation exercise was a welcome development aimed at eradicating germs in the market.
The Chairman, Seed Dealers Association of the market, Peter Ugwuonu, said that the stay at home order had helped in the war against the spread of the pandemic.
