A Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State has ordered that a 25-year-old farmer, Istifanus Musa, be remanded in a correctional facility for allegedly defiling two minors.

Musa id charged by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with defilement against the two girls aged nine and 10.

The two girls’ case against the farmer, who lives in Mabushi, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of the state, were filed and read out separately.

The presiding judge, Michael Bawa, however, declined to take their plea for wants in jurisdiction to hear the matter.

Bawa directed the prosecutor to forward the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

He adjourned the matter until Dec.12 for further mention.

Earlier, the NSCDC prosecutor, Mr Marcus Audu, told the court that the matter was reported to the corps by the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre Kafanchan on Nov.18.

Audu said the suspect lured the 10-year-old girl to his room and forcefully had sex with her, while the act with the nine-year-old was committed in a bush at a different time.

He noted that the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 209 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law. (NAN)
