CP assures Psychiatric hospital of improved security presence in Sokoto

THE Commissioner of Police in Sokoto state, Mr Usaini Gumel, has reassured the Federal Neuro- Psychiatric Hospital,Kware, Kware Local Government of improved security.

Gumel gave the assurance on Friday when he visited the hospital as part of measures to strengthen relationship and build cooperation  with agencies in the state.

According to him, the Nigeria Police Force will not renege on its mandate toward safeguarding people’s lives and properties.

He expressed appreciation on the quality of services and the array of facilities within the hospital.

The commissioner also said the visit was part of efforts to obtain direct information from individuals, institutions and organisations on security challenges.

Gumel, who inspected some facilities in the hospital expressed satisfaction and commended the management on the infrastructural developments being executed.

The Hospital’s Medical Director,  Prof. Shehu Sale, however, solicited the support of the Police toward ensuring improved security within the hospital and its environs.

Sale said security was paramount to peaceful coexistence, that allowed human beings to conduct their businesses freely without interference.

He said the hospital provides services to citizens round the clock and needed conducive atmosphere for personnel to perform better.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting secured the commitment of the police to support the management by reinforcing security apparatus in the hospital. (NAN)
