THE Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is planning to organise international friendly matches for Super Eagles against Italy and Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

Amaju Pinnick, NFF president, told supersport.com that discussions were underway to get the two countries on board to get the Eagles ready for the Fifa 2018 World Cup and the Afcon 2017 qualifiers.

“We are still discussing, but nothing is concluded yet; but we wish to play African champions, Cote d’Ivoire, in London,” Pinnick said.

“There is also a proposal to play Italy who is excited about playing Nigeria after we defeated Cameroun. We want to make the most of every Fifa window by playing top quality matches with good sides.” he added.

The Super Eagles will play a double header against Egypt next year in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in March.

Nigeria will also await its opponents for the final group stage of the Fifa 2018 World Cup in June.
