General News
THE ECOWAS Gender Development Center, EGDC, has launched the Gender Equality Seal for Public Institutions, GES-PI, after the capacity building workshop for the ECOWAS Gender Equality Committee, GEC and other Civil Society Stakeholders from September 9 – 11, 2024, in Accra, Ghana.
The Gender Equality Seal for Public Institutions, GES-PI, is a Certification Programme that recognizes good performance and gender accountability in delivering transformational gender results through the establishment of standards within public sector institutions to promote an equitable work environment for men and women.

It is a comprehensive process of improving and transforming key internal and external aspects of organizations to integrate gender equality principles and practices in the institutional architecture and culture. Through this process, public institutions are provided with a practical blueprint to implement institutional reforms to ensure that gender equality concerns are integrated into their work.
