THE Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo state chapter has urged the people to emulate the late Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun’s life of contentment, kindness and humility.

The CAN chairman, Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju, made the remark in a condolence message issued by the association on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Akinyemiju said with the late Olubadan’s skills, exposure and experience, he exceeded the expectations of his subjects within a period of two years.

Akinyemiju said the departure of the king “is an irreparable loss and a sad occurrence’’.

“It is sad that he had to transmit to the greater beyond at this time, but we thank God that he lived a great life of sacrifice and left legacies of peace, progress and fear of God behind.

“On behalf of Oyo CAN, I commiserate with all those who mourn the transition of the great man of peace, to eternity,’’ Akinyemiju said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Oba Balogun, died on March 14, at the age of 81, at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, a few hours after he was admitted at the hospital.

NAN reports that the first-class traditional ruler ascended the throne on March 11, 2022 after the demise of his predecessor, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

The late Oba died barely 72 hours after completing two years on the throne as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
