Ex-Chief of Army Staff bags traditional title in Osun

A former Chief of Army Staff,  Ex-Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman B. Dambazau, will be installed the Jagunmolu of Ede land in Osun by Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, as part of activities to mark his 15th  coronation anniversary.

This is contained in a statement by Prof. Tajudeen Akanji, the Chairman, Planning Committee, on Wednesday in Osogbo.

According to the statement, Dambazau will be conferred with the traditional title on June 7 in Ede town.

The statement said the choice of Dambazau for the prestigious title stemmed from the fact that he had distinguished himself as a personality with a remarkable track record of service and leadership.

It said the former Chief of Army Staff was also chosen for the tittle due to his significant contributions to the nation and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

“As the Barade of Kano, Dambazau has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service.

“And his appointment as the Jagunmolu of Ede land further attests to his esteemed reputation and influence in the community,” the statement said.

The statement also said that some notable personalities of the town would also be given traditional titles during the event.

It said other highlights of the coronation anniversary include special Jumat and Sunday services.

The statement said that the grand finale of the event would be the coronation anniversary on June 10, during which Gov. Ademola Adeleke would be the guest of honour.

“The entire Ede community eagerly anticipates this auspicious occasion, which will not only commemorate the 15th coronation anniversary, but also reinforce the bond between Dambazau, an indigene of Kano, and the people of Ede land,” it said. (NAN)
