Gara-Gombe eulogises late Chairman House Committee on Sports

AHMED Gara-Gombe, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Green White Green Sports Centre, has expressed shock over the death of the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Ekene Adams.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adams passed away after a period of illness at the age of 39.
Until his passing, he served as the Chairman, House Committee on Sports.
He also held positions as the CEO of Kada City Football Club and General Manager of Remo Stars at different times before winning the House of Representatives seat in the 2023 general election.
Gara-Gombe, who is also the Chairman, Gombe State Athletics Association, lauded the sports qualities of the deceased, adding that he would be fondly remembered for all his good deeds.
”So, Ekene Abubakar Adams is gone? Such is life, may Almighty Allah forgive his sins and grant him paradise.
”Adams was a man who indeed fought to right the wrongs in sports and he will be greatly remembered for all his contributions.
”He also raised his voice against the injustice perpetuated by sports administrators who are now singing his praises.
”I knew him when he was very young and his intimidating interest in sports was second to none,” he said.
The former Chairman of Gombe United football club also expressed his regrets that Adams took ill and had to step aside.
He also expressed his condolences to the deceased family. (NAN)
