Gov Yusuf approves N61m compensation for ADUSTECH projects

KANO State Government has approved N61 million compensation for residents of neighbouring villages affected by expansion projects at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Musa Tukur-Yakasai, disclosed this when he received the Chairman, Wudil Local Government Council, Muhammad Tukur and his council members.

“Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved the release of N61 million for settlement of compensation to residents of neighbouring villages affected by expansion projects at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil.

“The governor has also approved 100 additional hectares of land for the extension of the institution’s campus located along Gaya road,” the V-C said.

He assured the readiness of the institution to commence payment as soon as the money drop on the coffers of the university.

Tukur-Yakasai called for a collaboration with the university to develop Wudil Livestock Market in addition to initiating a river festival.

The vice chancellor then disclosed that he had approved 200 free forms for Wudil council for enrollment of residents into the university’s part time programmes.

In his remarks, the chairman, Wudil local government, Muhammad Tukur, pledged to settle all outstanding registration fees of part time students being sponsored by his council.

He assured the council’s resolve to join hands with the university to develop education in the area. (NAN)
