A Group of young men known as Royal International Charity Friends Club (TMB), said it spent N1.5 million as charity by assisting some sick people to pay their bills in selected private hospitals in Anambra.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that TMB members paid an impromptu visit to Ifebi Medical Centre and other hospitals to carry out their annual charity service to humanity.

The group, an NGO, annually holds various types of social services  to uplift the lives of people within their reach.

Chief Maxwell Obi, Founder and President of the group, said the sole aim of the group was to give back to the society and express gratitude to God for His blessings upon them.

Obi said the level of hardships in the country was too much for any wealthy person or persons, who could give assistance, to wait for government to do all the work of providing basic amenities to the people.

“The hot desire to make positive impact in lives of our people have been burning in me for years, so when God blessed me, I looked for people with same ideology; over 20 young family men who understand what hardship means came together to form the NGO.

“The TMB was formed and registered with CAC in March 2020 with aim to positively impact on lives, no matter how small they could in a legitimate manner that is allowed in the country.

Chief Callistus Ozichukwu,  the Secretary of TMB, said that the group members were mostly based abroad and came to Nigeria annually to hold meetings and plan for their charity services.

Ozichukwu said that the philanthropy ranged from scholarship scheme, economic empowerment to widow upliftment and youth development across the states.

Chief Tochukwu Udeogaranya, the Treasurer  of the group, disclosed that the group was designed to assist people of low or average class, to enjoy  tasteful  life through their help.

Mr Chibuikem Mbachi, son of one of the beneficiaries of the TMB charity at Ifebi Medical Centre, said that he was amazed at such kind gesture.

Mbachi said it was a huge surprise that people they didn’t know, walked into their hospital room to pray for them after which their bank accounts were credited immediately.

“ This is worth emulating; in Nigeria of today, it is amazing to be gifted with huge amount of money unsolicited,” he said.

Mrs Benedette  Okpala, whose 79 years old mother benefited from the charity, expressed shock  over such gesture.

Mrs Ogochukwu Anyaike, whose 59 years old mother was a beneficiary, commended the attitude of giving  without people soliciting, and described it as unique.

NAN reports that all patients at the Ifebi Medical Centre received the gesture from the group, which later departed to other hospitals.

A worker at the hospital, who spoke in anonymity,  said the facility was popular among various humanitarian service providers due to its high level of  professionalism.(NAN)
